At the end of a day's cycling, you will have earned a little luxury and we have two properties designed for your comfort and enjoyment. This accommodation is for the exclusive use of Off The Rails' guests, in the art deco township of Ranfurly - heart of the Otago Central Rail Trail.

Rail Trail Accommodation - Ranfurly, New Zealand
Our cyclists' accommodation in Ranfurly consists of two heritage properties:
Railway Cottage - built in 1906 and lovingly restored without losing its character. There are one twin and two double bedrooms, two bathrooms (one ensuite), kitchen/dining room, separate lounge and a large sunny garden with BBQ facilities. Railway Cottage is an easy walk to Ranfurly's art deco* landmarks, shops and restaurants.
Plains Retreat, Ranfurly Hospital - no you don't have to have broken anything! The spacious top floor of this elegant redbrick building used to be the nurses' accommodation and has been recently renovated to incorporate three double bedrooms and one twin. Also with two bathrooms, this suite of rooms includes a large living room and a twenty-metre sundeck looking out over the Kakanui Mountains - ideal for relaxing with a cool beer or Central Otago wine before dinner. Our accommodation host is in residence here and will, of course, take good care of you.
Once you get to your accommodation on the first day of the tour, relax! This will be your home for the duration of your bicycle holiday on the Rail Trail. No need to pack up each day and carry gear with you. No need to wonder whether you will be able to cycle as far as your next lodgings. Just unpack, settle in and enjoy.
Our tour hosts will discuss your options for the next day and arrange transport to and from your dinner destination in one of the local historic villages, such as Wedderburn, Naseby and St. Bathans.
After a healthy breakfast on Days 2 and 4, we will drive you to the day's start point (yesterday's finish point), a transfer of approx 20 minutes with local points of interest along the way. On Day 3, you'll simply ride out of Ranfurly when you're ready.
